Store strawberries at room temperature

Refrigeration blunts the flavor of strawberries.  One option is to arrange them in a single layer, making sure they're not touching, on baker's parchment. Contact traps moisture, and moisture encourages mold. At room temperature, with good air circulation, strawberries will keep, without loss of flavor, for a couple of days. Longer than that, and it's time to make jam.
